Promising hitter Mumbai Prithvi Shaw will lead an Indian team of 16 at the ICC’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup next year, the BCCI said.

The runners-up of the last edition of India have won three times the title of the U-19 World Cup in 2000, 2008 and 2012. India lost in the final against the Antilles in Bangladesh last year.
India is the most successful team in the history of tournaments along with Australia (1988, 2002 and 2010).

As part of India’s preparation for the coveted tournament, a camp will be held in Bengaluru starting on Friday.
“A preparatory camp will be held in Bengaluru from December 8 to 22, 2017,” Choudhary said.
“Shaw of Mumbai and Porel of Bengal have been allowed to join their respective Ranji trophy teams for the quarter-final stage and will join the camp on December 12.”
